Prayer
Hey friends. Tomorrow I leave for Mumbai, India on a 10 day trip coordinated by Mike Lopez (www.thetask.org) at the Int’l Mission Board. There are fifteen of us going, all worship leaders, artists, and/or songwriters. It’s officially a “discovery trip” for songwriters. Since I’m a sub-par songwriter at best, my personal role is to be an ambassador for Jesus, a friend and pastor to these musicians, and strategic thinker for future ministry and partnerships.
The focus of the trip will be a unique adventure for a bunch of songwriters. We will put down the guitars, hit the streets and look for people who are receptive to the Good News that we may support the church planting effort in Mumbai. This search for ‘people of peace’ will take us two-by-two throughout the many diverse neighborhoods of the city where we will be led by the Spirit as we share the hope that lives within us. Each day we will return to home base to share and celebrate. a Luke 10 approach. There will be lots of time to write, compose, reflect, collaborate, and sing.
Our hope is that when we leave Mumbai we will:
1) Have increased urgency for Mumbai’s lost
2) Have shared the gospel with the countless lost here and opened households to us who remain for continuing ev/discipleship leading to ch plants
3) Have heard and are able to articulate God’s heart for this city and mobilize God’s local church in America through the voice of influence He’s given us.
Please pray.
Take a GOOGLE EARTH PRAYER WALK
Find these neighborhoods on Google Earth and begin to pray for the people
who live there.
Andheri West
Andheri East
Malad East
Malad West
Goregaon
Jogeshwari
Ask God to prepare the hearts of the people we will meet….that they may hear and receive the Good News.
Ask Him to lead us to a 'person of peace'. Ask God to go before us on
each street, down each alley, into each home.
Pray for our hosts and leaders (some are first names only for security reasons):
Erick and Colleen Underwood: Team Strategy leaders for a Mumbai population segment. Our main on the ground coordinators.
Brian: Facilitates much of the work in South Asia that deals with music ethnography. He will be here on the ground in Mumbai for the whole trip and helping with daily logistics and debriefing.
Stacey B: a writer for the region working to promote what God is doing in Mumbai.
Also pray for our Indian translators.
Pray for my fellow travelers. Ask God to give us strength, health, protection, spiritual insight and discernment.
